Challenge

To live stream over 150 games with data integrated graphics, for a fraction of the cost of traditional production solutions for the newly launched NAB League, the national competition run by the AFL.

Requirement

Integrate Champion data into the live broadcasts to provide fully integrated match statistics such as team lists, player data and goal triggers. Integrate and display brand and sponsor campaigns seamlessly.

Solution

To do all of this while keeping cost of production down, we guided the AFL into our virtual solution, where graphics, data and brands were all integrated to the live streams in a virtual environment off-site/remotely all in the cloud, removing the need for hardware or onsite software. We then used champion data to automate the graphics workflow, removing the graphics operator and need for a director.

Spencer Wilson
Technical Services Manager - Australian Football League

“While looking for an effective solution to display statistical data on screen for our NAB League competition the AFL saw the LIGR system as the perfect fit. With a short lead time and outstanding co-operation from the team at LIGR we successfully launched the Broadcasts using their highly engaging automated graphics platform. The AFL have now proven there is a great appetite and interest for the U18 nationally and are now able to provide professional and engaging live broadcasts that would have been extremely difficult and cost prohibitive with traditional solutions.”
